About Storytellers Lab

Storytellers Lab is committed to empowering BIPOC students to succeed in the entertainment industry. By providing mentorship, skill-building, and valuable connections. The program addresses the unique challenges students face, paving the way for amore inclusive and equitable creative landscape.

Who is Storytellers Lab?

Storytellers Lab is a 9-month program offering students a career preparation program for entry-level roles in media and entertainment. Storytellers Lab bridges the gap between emerging content creators and industry leaders, empowering students worldwide through mentorship, skill development, and strategic networking opportunities.

Why Storytellers Lab?

BIPOC students face significant challenges when trying to enter the entertainment industry, with employment barriers, being a major hurdle. Issues like limited access to funding and bias hiring practices, make it harder for BIPOC talent to succeed.

When creating this program with our staff and executive leaders, I was encouraged by how eager everyone was to volunteer their time for mentoring. The commitment to growing this program and supporting the next generation was clear, with many expressing a strong interest in dedicating their personal time to help guide these students.

As a BIPOC executive who has learned everything I know about entertainment within the walls of Paramount, this cause is especially close to my heart. Starting my journey as a college student, while working at Paramount, I've faced and witnessed the struggles that many of the students are experiencing.
